If you are passionate about skincare and helping people feel confident in their skin, becoming a Facial Specialist in Florida can be an incredibly rewarding career.
The beauty industry continues to grow, and skilled skincare professionals are in demand in spas, med spas, and skincare studios.
At The Academy of Nail Careers in Sanford, Florida, our Facial Specialist Program is designed to help students gain both the knowledge and the hands-on experience needed to begin working in the skincare industry.
Here is how the licensing process works.
Step 1: Complete a Facial Specialist Program
In Florida, students must complete a minimum of 220 hours in a Facial Specialist program at a licensed school.

During this training students learn the foundations of skincare and professional treatments. Topics typically include skin analysis, facial treatments and massage techniques, hair removal and waxing, sanitation and infection control, and product knowledge.
Students practice these techniques in a hands-on learning environment so they gain confidence before working in the industry.
At The Academy of Nail Careers, students learn through a combination of classroom instruction, demonstrations, and practical experience working with clients in a supervised training environment.
Step 2: Apply for Your Facial Specialist License
Once your training hours are completed, your school submits proof of your education so you can apply for your license through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Similar to the nail specialist license, Florida does not require a state board exam for facial specialists. Licensing is based on completing your required hours and submitting your application.
Once your license is approved, you can begin working as a facial specialist in Florida.
Step 3: Begin Your Career in Skincare
Licensed facial specialists can work in a variety of environments including day spas, skincare studios, salons, wellness centers, and med spas.

Many professionals build a strong clientele by offering services such as customized facials, waxing, brow services, and skincare treatments.
Over time many estheticians expand their services, build their own brand, or open their own businesses.
Why Hands On Training Is Important
Skincare is a hands-on profession, which means your training experience matters.
At The Academy of Nail Careers we focus on creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable practicing their skills and learning proper techniques.
Students gain real experience working with clients and learning professional service standards that prepare them for the real world.
Serving Students Across Central Florida
Our academy is located in Sanford, Florida and students travel from surrounding areas such as Lake Mary, Deltona, Orange City, Altamonte Springs, and Orlando to attend our programs.
Many students choose our academy because of the structured programs and the supportive classroom environment.
