To become a certified nail technician in Florida, you must be at least 16 years old, complete 240 hours of training at a Florida Board of Cosmetology-approved school (The Academy of Nail Careers), pass the Florida Nail Specialty Examination (written and practical), and then submit your application with fees to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) to receive your license.
